Coelogyne speciosa subsp. fimbriata

$27.50

Also known as the Beautiful Coelogyne, this particular subspecies (fimbriata) is native to Sumatera.

It’s a large-sized Coelogyne that produces musky-scented flowers from the centre of newly developing pseudobulbs and can flower at any time of the year. The large (5-8cm) flowers come in a range of colours from pale-green to pale salmon. The lip is white with dark-brown spots and in the subspecies fimbriata, it’s delicately fringed.

Give it intermediate to warm conditions, filtered light and plenty of air movement. Water well during active growth and keep on the drier side during winter (but don’t let it dry out completely).

  • Note also that because the seedling is from a cross, all the plants will have slightly different flowers.
